Hosting Terms

Before we host your website we need to cover off a few things. Below we outline the key information about how we work with our clients.

General

These are terms for all hosting services that we carry out for our clients. They will apply each time that we host a website for you and your continued engagement with us and subsequent instructions to us will confirm your acceptance of them.

These terms are an extension of our Standard Terms that can be found here: https://www.batch.nz/standard-terms. They are intended to supplement our Standard Terms and not replace them.

What type of websites do you host?

All hosting services must be used for lawful purposes only. We will evaluate each website we host on it's own merit however you can expect us to shy away from anything unethical or obscene. At all times we are the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this.

How can I terminate our agreement?

A hosting agreement may be terminated by either party upon the occurrence of one or more of the following events:

  1. If either party fails to comply with any and all terms
  2. If either party enters bankruptcy
  3. Upon written agreement between both parties for any other reason

Fees

This section discusses how we charge for our services and how we expect to be paid.


What if I don't pay by the due date?

If an invoice is not paid by the due date we may stop hosting your website for you altogether.

In the unlikely event that this happens, we will notify you that we intend to stop hosting your website and you will continue to be responsible for paying our fees for the service we have provided to you.

In the extremely unlikely event that a billing disagreement can not be resolved we may choose to delete the website from our servers altogether.

Will my hosting plan be suitable for the life my website?

When we agree to host your website we'll let you know the level of service we believe it requires at that point in time. In most instances your hosting plan will be suitable for the life of your website however if the website grows to the point where a larger level of service is required, we'll be in touch to discuss that.

This may result in an increased fee.

How long are your web hosting agreements for?

To cut down on administration and make it easy for everyone, our website hosting agreements are for an indefinite period. We'll continue to charge you either monthly or yearly until you ask us to stop.

Technical

This section discusses general technical questions that apply when hosting your website.


Can I access the server where my website is hosted?

For reasons relating to website and server security and overall health we only provide managed hosting. This means you are not able to access the server yourself.

This will not impact your ability to use a content management system (CMS) if your website has one.

Can you help transfer my website away from your servers?

Absolutely, however a charge may be incurred if we are asked to help move the website to another server.
